Perfecting h264 conversion with ffmpeg

Liam (http://goodingsweb.com) has shared his findings on tweaking ffmpeg output with h.264, he has taken a 174MB flv file down to just 24MB (86% reduction in file size).

There is no noticeable difference in quality either, you can follow the forum thread here: http://flowplayer.org/forum/7/12671.

    Hello,
    Why seeking don’t work in non-downloaded part?

    Hi Nus,

    You need to specify keyframes in your ffmpeg line with -g I set this to 2 x the FPS so you can seek within 2 seconds.

    Can not play video. It’s saying stream is not available. I made an FLV wiht -g 200 but still can not seek. It’s deployed on IIS 7.0.
