Additionally added real time updates to the colour wheel and demo player when editing the hex code manually, updated flowplayer to version 3.1.5

This code is in final review in dev subversion, and will be pushed to the wordpress plugins SVN tomorrow time allowing.

When applied you can specify a splash image to user and your media by seperating them with a “|”

/path/to/my/spash.jpg|/path/to/my/media.flv,300,150

This will be rolled into the next update, as soon as I can get some time to actually work on it!!

Such is the case with project deadlines, and frankly I’d rather be rushed off my feet than unemployed at the moment

That said I do have a few projects in the works first and foremost is the WordPress-Flowplayer 2.1.0.0 release,

1. I have secured the latest version of flowplayer courtesy of the guys over at flowplayer.org,
2. I am working on integrating the mediamelon CDN service, which will be bundled with 2.1.0.0
3. With any luck provided I can get the code right this will also allow the use of 3rd party plugins
4. Working on an advance ‘scripting’ area to allow you to embed your own syntax in the plugin hook.

I am also redeveloping Froomi at present to add in some additional features, which will be served using a RESTful API, more on that soon,

Lastly there will be a new blog appearing soon geared mainly toward security and pen testing, following a nickname I have now picked up from work ‘the sith admin’ I’ve registered an appropriate domain and will be setting up on there soon.Tweet

Poor tags, we barely knew them…

GOODBYE! inpost tags, (sort of), configuration will no longer be handled using the inpost tags, the old tag structure will be retired in favor of an anchor to place the player in your content [FLOWPLAYER], configuration of the player will now be handled by an admin menu box.

That’s quite a list you’ve got there…

(basic) Playlists support has been added, this is configurable from the admin menu for the post

Dude, where’s your config file?

The saiweb_wpfp.conf file has now been removed *gasp*, now reliant in internal wordpress *magic* for the storing of the plugin config.

Your media is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint you can on it

Fixed a bug with the canvas colour settings

The commercial version of flowplayer will now only be used if a license key is specified, the free version will now be used if no key is specified which has a reduced logo branding.

Player embed causing issues with some navigation menus, this should be resolved with the wmode setting.

Details of how to get the preview version and install it along with screen casts of the new menus (time allowing) will be added to this post once everything is committed to subversion.

UPDATE: 15/04/2009 Got my hands on flowplayer 3.1 code is around 60% finished, went for a complete re-write.Tweet

This will be the first major revision jump since the 1.x to 2.x release.

This revision aims to close the final 5 enhancements for this plugin as logged in TRAC.

As such I am accepting submissions for feature request to make it into the 2.1.0.0 release, so please head over to our TRAC system and Make a request.Tweet

2.0.1.3 will be released shortly to amend a minor bug with nonstandard wordpress installs, 2.0.1.2 fixed the loading in of flowplayer and the javascript libs however as Jerry has pointed out here: http://www.saiweb.co.uk/wordpress-flowplayer/comment-page-1#comment-995 this does not extend to wp-content/videos/

As such for the time being as a work around please use the full http://yoursite.com/blog/wp-content/videos path when embedding media.Tweet
